Cataract operation
A cataract is an opacity that develops in the crystalline lens of the eye or in its envelope. Early on in the development of age-related cataract the power of the crystalline lens may be increased, causing near-sightedness (myopia), and the gradual yellowing and opacification of the lens may reduce the perception of blue colours

Cataract Small Incision Eye
On the day of your operation, you will be asked to put on a surgical gown. You may receive a sedative by mouth and an intravenous line may be put in. And you'll given eye drops to dilate, or open, the pupil. You will then be transferred to the operating table. To begin, the surgeon will use a special instrument to gently hold the eyelids apart. Then the surgeon will apply an antiseptic solution to the skin around the eye. .. before injecting a local anesthetic. While the anesthetic is taking effect, the surgeon will position a microscope in front of the eye. Patient Education By now, the pupil will be fully open, or dilated. When the operative field is numb, the surgeon will use the microscope to help make a very small incision just 3 millimeters above the iris. The lens is located just behind the iris contained in the elastic capsule. Next the surgeon will open the top of the capsule and remove the lens. Most likely, your doctor will use a small probe which vibrates at a high frequency. The probes vibrations break the old lens into microscopic pieces ... which can then be drawn out with gentle suction. Through the small incision, the surgeon will then insert the new lens. The lens is actually rolled up inside a special injector, designed to fit through the small incision made above the iris. With the tip of the injector inside the eye, the surgeon slowly injects the new lens where it unfolds into position. Because of the small size of the incision, often your surgeon will complete surgery without putting in any stitches. Vision will gradually improve during normal healing over a period of 5 to 8 weeks. Childbirth
Childbirth During childbirth the baby lies in the mother's uterus with his head pointing down toward the cervix. The first stages of labor begin with short, regular contractions of the uterus, every few minutes, which continue until the mother's cervix is fully dilated. In the second stage of labor the contractions become more forceful, more frequent, and more painful. As the baby's head starts to move down the vagina the amniotic sac breaks and fluid is released. The top of the head appears at the entrance of the vagina and finally bulges out. This is the crowning of the head. The contractions which follow push the baby even farther down so that the head is delivered. The baby's eyes immediately begin to blink and the mouth makes sucking movements. The baby usually emerges facing the mother's back, so that the head passes through the widest possible opening in the pelvic girdle. The head then turns, so that the upper and then the lower shoulder follows. There is a final contraction and baby slips out, still attached to the umbilical cord. The cord is then tied and cut---a painless operation because the cord is nerveless. The third stage of labor, in which the placenta, or afterbirth, is delivered, is usually complete about fifteen minutes after the birth.

Female Reproductive Organs
How the Body Works Female Reproductive Organs The female sex organs lie in the lower abdomen, where they are protected by the bony pelvis. At puberty, the two almond-shaped ovaries begin to produce the female hormones, estrogen and progesterone, and the sex cells, or ova. Each month, the ovary releases an ovum into the funnel-shaped opening of a Fallopian tube. If coitus occurs it is here that the ovum may be fertilized. Each Fallopian tube is approximately four inches long and is lined with ciliated cells. The two Fallopian tubes lead into the womb, or uterus, a three-inch-long pear-shaped organ lined with the endometrium, which is shed and built up again each month. It is in this endometrium that the fertilized egg implants and grows during pregnancy. The neck of the womb, or cervix joins the uterus with the muscular vagina, which leads to the external genitalia, or vulva. The female urinary system, unlike that of the male, is separate from the reproductive system. The bladder empties into the urethra, which opens just in front of the vagina.

Immature Male Sex Cells
How the Body Works Immature Male Sex Cells Immature sex cells, or spermatogonia, in the testes divide by mitosis and become primary spermatocytes. Each one then divides by meiosis, a cell division peculiar to the reproductive organs, to form two secondary spermatocytes, each containing half the full number of chromosomes. A second meiotic division splits each spermatocyte into two spermatids, which then mature into sperm.
